GM parts website
http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/
Anybody shopped for parts here. Genuine parts, not performance, and seem to be a good price. I found the head unit for my auto A/C for close to half msrp. Any prior customers? |
RE: GM parts website
gmparts website is CLOSE to a scam..
its a dealer...that shows the new steering shaft for 56 bucks...(it lists for 90)...you get excited and buy it...they add a TWELVE dollar handling fee and shipping...now its 75 bucks.....about what any dealer will sell it to you over the counter for... still an ok deal,right?...nope...look again.that part has an * by it..meaning its "special order" and not returnable.WTF>??..we have 16 of those on our shelf, whats "Special" about it? They sell it for what we would...do a volume business, and don't take stuff back.... I'd be careful |
RE: GM parts website
Okay, question then. My auto climate control unit list for close to $200, they sell for $90 something, then $120 and change after shipping. Deal or no deal?

RE: GM parts website
discounted yes...but worth it?..it LISTS for 200..thats what you'll pay thru the shop (any shop) putting it on..
however, try calling a dealer...see what their over-the-counter price is...I bet its not real far (if any) over 120....and you could get it warrantied or returned there |
RE: GM parts website
Argon - So use it to find out the approx. price charged at the dealer???
|
RE: GM parts website
dealers..like anything else...have set markups...
I get a part at cost plus 10% garages get cost plus 15% warranty pays around cost plus 20 over the counter about the same then list It looks like these guys are selling at around 20 over...whats bothersome is they are not being up front about it...they flash a cheap (maybe cost) price up there, but then add their 20% at checjkout |
