GMC 1500 for 600$. Deal?
My boss is selling a '95 GMC 1500. 5.7 350, automatic, 230,000 miles on it. The body is in decent shape, but I really dont care about that.
I want it to haul small boats and kayaks in the bed, for fishing and duck hunting, hauling deer out in hunting season, and maybe some odd jobs, junking light loads. I wont be driving over 20 miles away 95% of the time.
The tires are in excellent shape, less than a year old but with very low mileage on them.
The master cylinder and break booster needs replacing, it'll cost around 130-150$ for that. He is asking 800$ for the truck. If he'll take 600$ for it, to make up for the money I'd have to spend right off, is this a decent deal?
I know its a crap shoot with that high a mileage, but do you all think I have a decent chance at getting another 30-40,000 miles outta it?
Thanks, I really appreciate it. 600$ would normally not be much to worry about either way, but I'm paying my way through college, and if its not worth it, the money could definitely be used somewhere else. Thanks, Mike.

You've got a pretty good shot at getting that much out of it. These trucks are so simple and so numerous that you could realistically keep it running for another 200,000 for less than $3000. It sounds good to me
