gmc c/k 2500 rotors

I can't get the front rotors off my gmc c/k2500. They are 8 lug. Its has 4wd. I have the caliper off the cv axle bolt off and a puller on it but I can get the damn thing off. Do I need to take off the bolts for the hub in back??? Is this thing pressed in?? Do I just need to beat the hell out of it?? What am I missing?? This thing is driving me crazy its been a money pit since the first day. The reason I need to remove all these "new" brakes is because I have a bad vibration in the front and I think I have a warped rotor the guy at check think it might be a caliper. Could that be? I dont think so. I need help... Thanks everyone

RE: gmc c/k 2500 rotors

It could be either a warped rotor or there are hot spots forming on it. Hot spots look like little smudges of off color metal on the rotor.

I had the same problem on my buddies 4X4 ranger with getting the rotors off.. After I broke out the benz-o-matic and beat on the thing with a mallet until my arms were dead. I ended up taking it to the shop.. They managed to get the rotors off for me.. Dont know how they did it though, sorry.. but heres a little tip for when you do get your new rotors. when your putting your wheel back on make sure you torque all the lugs the same. if you dont then you will be buying new rotors very soon as they will either warp or get hot spots, both which will cause vibration.

What year???...yes,some of those 4wd hd rotors ,youmust pull off with the bearing...

How were you going to machine them?..I doubt a parts store can do it

its a 1999 and most of the auto parts stores here can turn them, but if they come out with the bearing I'm up the creek. Any chance this could be a caliper? that would be nice they don't cost that much and it easy lol

I've never seen a caliper cause a brake shak...If you want to make sure, check the rotors runnout with a dial indicator...more than .002" will shimmy.
We have an on-car machine to turn such rotors without all that bearing removal.Jap products are built the same way,for the most part
