GMC door problem
I just purchased a 1997 GMC 1/2 ton. 235,000 miles. It has some small problems.
The driver door doesn't open from the inside, but I've watched the video to replace the handle and think I can do that. But the door also swings freely, with no "slowdown" (not sure what those are called, part of the hinges I suppose). It's a big heavy door and living in windy country, could be dangerous to my grandkids.
Is there a fix to slow the door down? I don't want to replace the entire door unless I have to.
Thanks!

if yoy havent got it fixed yet... I believe the part you are asking about is called the "door check". The "rod" located between the hinges. Sounds like the part that is inside the door is either worn out or a spring has popped loose.
