good gear ratio for a limited slip?

im really thinking about changing to a limited slip and changing the gears while its all out. anybody know a good ratio to go with on a LSD?

I would look at 3:23, 3:55, and 3:73. The 3:23s will give you the best fuel economy while the 3:73s will give you more off the line pull. I myself would go with the 3:55s as they will give you a little of both. But maybe you are thinking more on the line of 4:11s which is fine too. It is up to you.
Good luck with your choice.

Also look to see what gears you have now. They may be what you are looking for.

no deffinately not. it has 2.73 open diff in it right now. im havin trouble finding some good 3.23s or 3.55s so maybe 3.73 with a limited slip would be a nice change hopefully that will all hold in the stock 10 bolt.

i'd go with 3.73 or something around there at least... i have 3.42's and its geared too high for my liking...

What size tires are you planning on running? If you want speed off the line and are running stock tires, 4.10. A good compromise for all around is 3.42, and then numerically lower to save fuel.

You should buy the stock wheels off my truck and and put 235 65 17 tires or may be a little taller like 255 65 17s:D

I would say 3.42, 3.55, or 3.73 at the most. I think the 4.10 will give you too high rpm and drink gas. I would stay in the 3.42, 3.55 range. This will also cover you with larger tires. If yo are staying stock size then 3.23 or so.

ive been thinkin a good ratio would be 3.73s but i didnt know if this would be to high or not. plus i know each one is going to have its advantages and disadvantages, just wanting to go through all of those to kinda narrow the choices down.
