guess what the problem was with my truck
well my truck runs great
guess which problem it was a( throttle body needed cleaned) b( idle air control valve) c( the truck is a piece of junk) d (the gas was low) e ( the throttle cable and the answer is b the idle air control valve i unpluged it today after a friend had suggested i do that to see if its bad and guess what i drove it 3 blocks with no prblems the only difference is tha tit idles at 2000 instead of the noraml 1000 where it should be so i plugged it back in and guess what runs like crap so friday i will be replaceing it |
glad to hear you fixed it! Would that explain why my truck surges when idling in drive or reverse? it alternates between 400 and 700 rpms.

remove it drive it around the block to see if there is a difference if so that would be it also it will idle higher in neutral and park at around 2000 as mine did so i am in the process of buying a new one also make sure you put your air filter back on before you drive it lol i almost forgot also i am thinking of leaving it unpluged until i can get a new one and i dont knwo what it will do long term to it but i think it would just use more gas |
i will be posting pictures of what it looks like later
on my profile pitrues |

Unfortunately I didn't realize your truck had the older TBI engine in it... not thinking. Mine is the Vortec V8 that has a TPS idle control instead of the Idle control valve. Oh well, thanks for taking the pictures.
I remember fixing that exact same PS hose on my 92! It was a nice little 8 dollar fix |
its ok some one one day will be looking for it so its there to stay and as far as the tpi idle goes im not sure about that but i do know if you run your truck under half a tank alot the pump gets over heated as the gas keeps it cool
