What's the difference in long tube and shorty headers?

The really short and sweet is shorties are not worth it for the silverado, no gain to a power loss. The exhaust shop in my area makes shorties and long tubes, most of them are put on vehicles that get dynoed often. The shorties only produced up to 5 additional hp in a vortec, they are now looking at lowering the price of the long tubes. Sorry it wasn't in depth but there will be people along that are header pro's :)

My shorties gave nice upper end power, but nothing lower. The longtube are supposed to be better for lower end and not as good for upper.
