Heater control problem, I'M STUMPED
 
04 silverado 2500hd, problem is I cannot get the air to stop blowing out of the defrosters, will not change to the floor or the vents, everything works fine just can't change air direction, it had the recall done for the blower motor, checked all connections, any ideas on what else to check, I am ready to set this thing on fire, between this problem and the code po300 I am at the end of my rope.....:mad: thanks.:confused::confused::confused:

u check ur vaccum hoses for the vents ? odds are the t they go into is broken or a line is.

thanks for the reply, where would these lines be located? I didn't see anything under the dash, I took down the bottom cover and checked all the electrical but didn't see any lines. thanks

on the 96 camaro i had they were under hood passanger side near the computer. start looking there.

they ain't there, I have been under the hood looking already, can't find nothing there or under the dash, time to get the gas out, thanks anyway.

Try this actuator recalibration procedure.
With the ignition switch in the on position, remove the HVAC/ECAS fuse for a minimum of 10 seconds. This fuse is located in the under hood fuse/relay box.
Re-install the HVAC/ECAS fuse.
Start the vehicle.
Wait 40 seconds for the HVAC control module to self-calibrate

Try this..... it SHOULD work
This is a common problem after the battery has been disconnected.

thanks I will try that, thats when the problem occured after I put in a new starter, when I hooked the batt back up thats when I had this new problem, thanks a bunch I will try that right now.:)

that did the trick, thanks a bunch, now if I can only figure out this multipal misfire I would be a happy camper again.:):)
