Question Help

I recently bought a 1995 Chevy 1500 4x4 extended cab from my dads friend for a super deal. I have recently replaced the battery in it and it starts great! It idols fine and drives great at normal speeds.

My problem is when driving very slowly(backing up a trailer, etc) the truck sputters and tries to stall out(it has succeeded a couple times).

I tried putting some injector cleaner through it the last tank of gas but it didn't help any.

The last couple times I drove it I smelled gas when it was having its fits, so to me it is like it is flooding itself somehow.

I can't afford to take it in so i was hoping someone on here might have an idea on what the problem might be so i can fix it myself.

THANKS

Is it a TBI injected or CPI/vortec engine? I'd say give it a tuneup.

I have no idea, where would I look that up? The last vehicle I did any work on was a 79 Duster, which is a far simpler motor to figure out lol.
