Default Cold Air Intake causing 'Check Engine' light to come on...

I know what the problem is here, but I want to know if I am going to jack my truck up b/c I am driving it when the the MAF (Mass Air Flow sensor) is not fitting tight into the new spot for it on a Spectre Cold Air Instake system.

They advised kit 9900 when it actually was 9918 so I have had to jack with it to get it to fit (hence the Check Engine codes getting thrown). I am about to throw it in the trash and go buy a K&N...

K&N are better anyways but the MAF sensor is whats probably tripping the code

also without the MAF sensor that can throw some stuff off whack because the engine wont know how much air is actually getting into the engine to mix the fuel air ratio correctly

I ripped that 'no name' off and installed my new K&N...WOW -- what a difference. No stupid codes getting thrown and it runs like a champ.

I have never heard of anyone having a problem with a Spectra CAI system. I have a K&N on mine, but I did not realize there were others out there till after I had pruchased it years ago. 1 of the first items I bought for my truck.
