Help with tires please

I have a 2002 Chevy Silverado K1500 Z71. I recently purchased tires, and the tire place put on the wrong ones. I purchased Grabber AT2 265/75/R16 , however they put on 285/17/R16s. The man at the tire shop said they are optional tires for my truck and that it would be ok. He didn't charge me for them being the larger size, and I am wondering if it would be ok to keep them on. I'm assuming it will be lowering my gas mileage a little bit. But I just wanted to make sure the wheels themselves are wide enough for this tire and it they wont be causing me any other problems I'm not thinking about!?!? Thanks in advance!

I'm interested in any responses because I'd like to go a little bigger with my next set of tires. If they don't rub & they look ok, you have nothing to worry about.

I think you meant 285/70/16,s If you did they are just a little wider , than a 75 series.
Might throw your odometer off a little. Your probably going up 3/4 " on height.
Should not notice it much on mpg,s.
