HHO Systems
First, I am new to the forum and this is my first posting...thanks in advance for any responses!
I have an '06 2500 HD (6.0L V8). I have been reading about HHO systems for cars, trucks, diesels and was thinking about putting one on my truck. There are lots of places to go to get plans to build them yourself. I am not interested in that but there are assembled systems such as BluWaveHybrid and BestGasSavingDevice. More reading has shown that these systems require an EFIE to "fool" the O2 sensor, as well as a pulse wave modulator (PWM) to decrease power usage, increase HHO and help keep system cooler. Does anyone out there have any experience with these HHO's systems? ANy guidance/advice would be helpful. Thanks again for looking. |

RE: HHO Systems
I really do think this will work. No 30+ MPG but maybe 25 highway MPG. First of I I think that guys canister and HHO output is too low. Second you need to modify fuel trims and timing in order to get the benefit from the HHO, otherwise you are just steam cleaning the motor. I wish I had the money to try it because I really think it will work.
FYI: BMW is already working on an HHO (only no gasoline) vehicle. |
RE: HHO Systems
That guy on ls1truck.com is selling those kits for $200. I'm curious to see the feedback after its been tested by other people.
I guess I'm one of the apparent few who actually believes it will work. |
RE: HHO Systems
Don't buy one from him, honestly you can get one off ebay twice that size for $60. Then you need a MAF tuner ($80), O2 spacers ($10 a piece) and some wiring and vacuum lines (maybe $30 tops). That should get you well on your way to making this thing work. Take it apart before you use it and see how its build because I heard these need rebuilt once every 12-18 months and you'll need to find the parts.

RE: HHO Systems
to be honest, this sounds like a huge pain in the ass
