high oil pressure

my oil pressure is 40 at idle, over 60 cruising at 70 mph... is this normal? it seems prettyhigh...

also, someone told me if i use 10w30 oil it wont burn off as much as 5w30... is this true?

RE: high oil pressure

That is what pressure mine runs.

Thicker oil will "blow by" less.....the thicker you get the more load on the motor....to thick and it won't climb the crank.
My mother runs 20w-50 in every vehicle she's ever had and they all made it to 250,000 miles. They still ran but she traded in for a newer vehicle.

I run the recomended 5w30, conventional 5w30, change it at 3000 miles, and it comes out just as clear as when i put it in, and it never burns a drop. good oil, good oil filter and good air filter help all of this.
