How do I get to the starter

Default How do I get to the starter

Hi, I just got a 94 sierra 1500 4.6 6. The starter went bad and I dont see anything under the truck that looks like the starter. Do I have to take anything off to see the starter. I have put starters in before but I just cant find it. Any help pleaasse? Thanks.

The most common place for them is between the transmission and engine.

You mean 4.3L v6, yes? I have never seen a 1994 with a 4.6L.

On the passengers side, between the engine block and the passengers section of "Y" pipe that connects to the exhaust manifold.

You are correct sir...thats what I meant. It's a six. Thank's for the help guys.
