How to Engage Cruise Control on 98 K1500?

New to these trucks, and I don't know how to engage the cruise control on these things. Bought it without a manual, and I can't find a .pdf one anywhere...

How do you engage the cruise control?

p.s. If anyone has a .pdf manual for these late 90s chevys I'd appreciate a link.

on the same stick as your wipers are on (left side of steering collumn) you'll find a button on the end as well as a three position switch near the end.

from left to right the switch functions are: off, on, Accelerate/resume
the button on the end is to engage/set the cruise control.

Pick your desired speed, flip the switch to the center position, and hit the button

Thank you for the reply! Is there a factory-set speed which must be accelerated to in order for the cruise to function? It seems that it doesn't work at speeds lower than around 25 mph. Not that it really makes much of a difference, just would be nice to know! :)

hmm... maybe. The lowest I've used it is 30mph in those nasty construction zones

Now that I think about it, I don't think the cruse works on any of my cars below 30mph either. Must be a safety thing?

How do you use the accelerate/resume part of the switch?

One thing I want to mention about these old cruise controls. If you are at say, 35 MPH and the set speed is 65 MPH, the control will floor the throttle trying to get you there instantly.

I spun the rod bearings on a 1998 Yukon that way!
