Here it is.
I have a 06 chevy 2500 4x4 w/ the 6.0 and auto tranny.
Istarted it up and when inside for a pop come back out and got in .
I look down and the odometer says low oil pressure and the gauge was in the red.
The truck was dinging non stop , so I shut it off and thought for a minute.
I got out and checked the oil and it was full.
So I started it back up and listened for noise.
Nothin bad sounding , so I got in revved it up and watched the gauge wiggle.
So I backed it out and pulled forward and the gauge started workin again.
Is this the oil pump or the sending unit ?
Could it be the gauge?
I checked and there's no TSBs on this ,anybody pleasechime in here.

 

if it was pinging its the pump, the pick up screen might have been plugged and when you turned it off it dropped down

 

if the ONLY problem is the oil gauge,its probably its sending unit
