RE: idle speed 4.8L

UPDATE : I bought some carb and choke cleaner (gumout), and my dealer told me to take the intake tube off, where it attaches to the throttle body, and then start the truck and let it idle. Spray the carb cleaner directly into the throttle body until the engine dies. Do this about 3 times. So i did. They also told methe check engine light may come on, but if it does, bring it in and they will cancel it out.At first, the engine spit, spew, farted, burped and everything else, and barely would idle, for a good 10 minutes or so. I'd shut it off and start it back up and ease into the throttle and little by little, it came out of it, and vwaa laaaa, the check engine light appears. I headed to the dealer and my god, what a difference in throttle response. The RPM's were staying at around 1,000 until i came almost to a dead stop, then it would drop down to about 650, but shifting was 100 % better and NO CLUNKING NOISE, as the RPM's are staying higher. The dealer was impressed so much that he was gonna call a couple close friends that had the same truck and tell them what we had done. I am hoping this is a permanent fix. I want to thank Argon and everyone else who may have given me any ideas or info as to how to possibly fix this problem, because it has worked wonders. I'll keep you all posted, Jim

Seafoam will help clean the rest of the engine out even better.
