just installed my TBS
 

Well i went with the torque swirl TBS from TRans dapt and i have to say that i am impressed. it took 20 minutes to install and i definately notice some more ass.

So my question is, why does this work, aside from the manufacturers explanation?

i think its the same jist as tunnel ram on carb intakes

Yeah, sorta like longer intake runner length. Although, there are a few critics out there that will tell you it makes no difference on our trucks. Reasoning is that the TBS is supposed to help swirl the air and create better combustion through better atomization of the fuel/air charge...but with the fuel being delivered at the cylinder it doesn't help.

Personally, I also think it helps straighten the air after it is disrupted at the plate in the throttle body...
