K&N CAI
 

Just ordered a K&N CAI from Autozone, will be here tomorrow. How hard are they to install, any precautions/warnings? Thanks!

My install went really good.....of course a little different, all parts and stuff were all there. The hardest part is getting the heat shield trim on. Just make sure you cut the hard plastic stuff (not the rubber) it has a metel strip in it so it doesnt bend very good. Cut it were you need to make a turn. With a little time and cussing you can get it on.

Yea, the local store said it was at the store about 40 miles away but it was too late for a parts run just for that. I was looking at my current set-up, trying to find where it might give me trouble. It just looks like taking off the MAF and not damaging it, because there is only 1 other quick connect for I think a temp. sensor. I'm thinking it's going to be about an hour or 2 install. Good estimate?

One proablem i ran into with my 97 was: i had a TBS on it and the bolts that came with the CAI went long enuff. so i had to get some speical made for it. If you dont have a TBS you sould be fine. If you do i could tell you how i had to get them made. And two hours sounds about right might take a little less time then that.

Or you could of got it from Autoanything for cheaper than that....I got mine from them for 206 total.....cheapest I have ever found them....not downing Stylin Trucks or anything but they are kinda high on some of there stuff. But I buy from them because there customer service is good and they have alot of good stuff other people dont. Its all about the quality not the price you pay for it really. Anyways Congrats on your purchase.....I know you'll love it!
