Default K&N does not fit

i have a 2006 silverado 2500hd, i recently bought a K&N and it doesnt fit. The throtle body spacer is taking too much space and the K&N is stuck in the fan. Can i cut the K&N a bit to make it fit without losing performance or risking that it will fall off and hit in the fan?

Take the throttle body spacer off. You don't need it.

The throttle body spacer is doing nothing to help you. remove it, sell it on ebay. they work well for wet style fuel systems like the tbi motors but do nothing for dry styles like ours.

I figured id bump this thread instead of making my own, i have a 2000 chevy 1500 with the 5.3 and it has a spectre intake on it. im considering getting a throttle body spacer but i can already see that i will need to cut the rubber tube or get a smaller one. any input on this?

Did you have the electric fans on it with that combination setup? If so that explains why it fit. I know on my parents Avalanche and my Sierra there is no way to put a CAI and TB Spacer on with the manual style fan and shroud.
