key removal
 

i have a 01 silverado 6-cylwith 144,000 miles on it. went to start it and the starter never disengaged after the motor started and i'm unable to turn the key to the off position or remove it. anyone seen this before?

i'd stop right there and go to a dealer or QUALIFIED indy...why?

let's say you get trhe cylinder to rotate back and remove the key...BUT,then its frozen where it is...key will not turn.then you've entered into about a 500 dollar repair to replace the lock cylinder AND the big housing that the cyl goes into...whereas right now,only the lock cyl replacement is required.
