Keyless Entry Problem 2000 Sierra
Hi All!
I have a 2000 Sierra 2500 with keyless remote door lock & unlock fobs. Today, none of my 3 fobs work.
Here Is What I Did To Try To Get The Fobs Working:
Step 1- Check all batteries in the remotes
Step 2- Verify the door panel buttons lock & unlock the doors and that the doors lock themselves at 15 mph. They also unlock when key is removed (as desired)
Step 3- Checked every fuse that has a label saying that it has anything to do with locks (in both fuse blocks- dash & under hood)
Step 4- Removed the unlock relay from the dashboard fuse panel & bench test it.
Step 5- Unhooked the truck battery, waited a minute & re-connected it.
Step 6- Verified all other accessories and equipment in the truck work, such as mirror, lights, signals, etc. (Kind of a fuse & relay verification)
All of the above checked out good.
Next, I tried to re-program the remotes following the procedure outlined in the attached sheet.
The truck wil not go into Programming Mode (It is step 9 on the attached.) The locks are supposed to lock & unlock themselves when the button is released. This confirms programming mode.
Do you all know what I missed in my checkout procedure?
Thank You All for helping me with this & educating me on the subject for next time.
Enjoy This Day!
Paul
