leveling kit/tires

So I traded in my lowered 2006 reg cab for a 2006 crew cab 1500 4 wheel drive. After pricing lift kits, I decided I might just go with the 2" leveling kit. I want a new shotgun more than I want a lift.... Anyways, I want to put wheels and tires on while leveling it out. Im just confused on what tire I can get on there without worrying about any bs. Has anyone dealt with this? I will most likely put the 2" keys on, then raise it up a little more to get it level, or a hair higher in the front. I really like the way 33's look on 20" wheels but I think that may be pushing it. and I dont understand tire sizes. It seems the dia changes when the width is changed and the circumference is the same. Im sure it's simple, but very confusing to me. My stock tires measure 31.5" right now, so it looks like a 33 should clear. But I dont want too much tire in there either. Does anyone have, say, about a 32" tire on a 20" wheel? If so, is there enough sidewall? I plan on going to the dunes, so I would have to air down some. Or should I go with an 18" wheel? I know a guy with ford that did a 2" leveling setup and runs 20" wheels and 33's. But its a ford. Different fender shape, and not sure on any height difference. I will measure that next time I see him. Any ideas, thoughts, or opinions would be greatly appreciated!

Go to How to understand metric tire sizes - Tacoma World Forums the first post explains metric tire sizes and the third post down has a tire caculator, here it is Tire Size Calculator - Compare Tire Sizes
hope this helps. I have a 2004 Z71 and I did a leveling kit and I run LT285/75R16 which are about a 33 inch tire without any problems. Actually I put them on before the leveling kit was done with no problems. Tire width may be a problem with rubbing when turning so check closely on the tire width.

Thanks for the info. After looking at the chart, and talking to the tire guy, Im going to go with a 285/65 R18. It should be about an inch bigger in diameter and a little under an inch wider. I just hope it doesnt look too small. On the other hand, I dont want to "stuff" the fender wells either....
