lift kit

i have a 2003 silverado 2500 HD crew cab with the 6.0

its got these tiny tires, i think they are 245 65 r16

id like to get a 6-9 inch suspension lift....how much will this cost exactly, assuming i dont do it myself and have somebody do it

also whats the biggest size tires that will fit my truck?

I would assume that the lift is going to cost a lot alone. Now, paying some turd to put it in will probly double the cost. If you just want the lift for looks go with a Fag-tech or similar lift kit 3"-4". 6" (whatever) and throw in a 2" body lift.. That would do it for you but you would look like a chump. If you want a serious lift you are going to spend some serious cash...

If you don’t intend on using your 2500HD like a truck then I guess sky’s the limit.. There are trade offs for everything though.. power/mileage, bigger tires/mileage, crappy parts save money/need replacement more often.

So if you are serious about lifting your truck you first need to figure out what you want to accomplish. If you are going to do some serious off-roading then maybe a 6" susp lift is in order.. If you are going to tow anything maybe just a nice set of new wheels and tires will do it for you (265/75r16? 275/75r16?).

When you figure out what you want to accomplish and have searched through the forum for a while, come on back and ask some more questions.

Google is your friend.. Use it...

your truck will clear 305 70 16s with some torsion bar adjustment, if thats a better option for you...

a six inch on an hd will clear 37s... but it wont be cheap (and neither will the tires)

for a six inch suspension you're looking at around 2 grand just for the kit... installation will be a good bit too (never had one installed so i dont want to throw a number out)

might i recommend a 2-3" leveling kit, add a leafs, and 35s?

i've seen it happen. they'll clear. and yeah the torsion bars are adjustable by turning one bolt on each side

Hey, I just got a 2010 2500 crew cab. I checked into having it leveled so I can tuck 35's with custom wheels on it. i am 50, and already had the monster Ford lift. To old to climb that everytime. anyways. having it leveled and tires with wheels. A place here in Jesery called Camper Bob's will do it for around $3200.00
