Lift kit help new to this
I plan on putting a pro comp lift kit with no rear blocks lift springs on my 1998 gmc 2500 k2500 454 it has 4 inches in the front and 3.5 in the rear.
1. Will I need new drive shafts for the front and rear 2. New brake lines. 3. Rear gearing 4. Traction bars 5. Will 325x65r18 pro comp xtreme all terrain tires with XD778 Monster +35mm offset 6. any other issues or parts that I may need that the lifts does not come with or is listed. I will also be putting a new exhaust, throttle body spacer, intake and what is a good tuner to run on that truck with the 454. Thanks Brad. |
What are you trying to get at here? Are you looking for those parts? Or asking for opinions?

Welcome to Truck Forums Brad
Sounds like you've covered all the bases. I'd follow your thread if you started a step by step of the lift process. Start a before and after thread. :) |
I am looking for advice the lift kit I listed is for a 6 lug I have the 8 lug.
All I would like to do is fit 35x12.50R18/17 and still be able to put a plow and trailer on it. 2.5" leveling kit and inch rear blocks and a 2 inch body lift. I can not find a 4" front 2.5" rear lift for the 8 lug only 6 lug or 99 and newer. and how bad do mud tires hurt mpgs. |
I went from a 235/75R15 on my old truck, so a 31X10.5R15 and lost about 3 MPG. On average, you can guess losing about 1 MPG for every two pounds of tire you add.

I have NITTO GRAPPLERS 265 70R 17 on stock rims They DON"T rub but my BFG Mud and Snow 265 70R 17 on American Racing rim DO rub Simply because of the off set. and no lift Good luck in your lift or leveling kit search |
