Default lifting a 1500 sierra

im kinda new to gm. i got a quick question. first off let me say i have 2 trucks. the first is a 2002 f250 4x4 diesel which is my daily driver. secondly i have a 2000 gmc sierra 1500 2wd. i have lifted my ford and now have 38"s on it. it came stock with 285/75 r16's on it. what i want to do is put these tires on the gmc, using the gmc wheels of coarse. but i knnow i am going to have to lift the gmc somewhat can anyone tell me exactly what i need to do i have never done this on a gmc only a ford. thanks for the advice

I would think that a 2" leveling kit in the front would do it
