So is this one... I think that driver input affects the outcome somewhat between the Ford and the Silverado, but the Tundra is all about a poor design. Oh what a feeling...

gotta love it... its like somebody said in a post on here a few weeks back, its not about power at the flywheel or even at the wheels, its how power is distributed... all about how it hits the pavement.

Wow the new Tundra is quite a dancer, maybe it should be painted pink in that test cause I almost mistaken it for a ballerina.:D

That is kind of a weird test. Its funny to see the "king" of Toyotas truck line be so flimsy. The Ford held up well too, just couldn't keep the wheels on the pavement. I guess the test proves a good point. I've gotten sideways a few times turning on bumpy roads with my old truck. (And in PA there are a tone of them). My 99 is better but it would be nice to do the speedlimit in some areas without stuggling to keep the truck straight. Funny part is that test track was only a little worse then some roads around here. Lol.

Yeah the roads in PA are terrible, I drove a car there a few years ago, and got bounced all over the place. I guess they don't have to worry about speeders though as you just can't go fast on that stuff.

Hunt - I will ask him, and see if I can get it taped. He is kinda a wuss lately though, so he may not.

I'm sure that on a track that isn't so 'rugged', the toyota with that design would drive a lot more like a car.

One of the worse things with a test like that is sympathetic vibration. A 2-3" difference in wheel base (either length or width) can make a huge difference in how the vehicle handles going down a track. Remember that it's a Ford video. They probably respect the Silverado more than they do Toyota so making it look bad is more of a priority.

My '94 would bounce all over the place and my '04 isn't much better on washboards. But hey, it's a truck, it's not supposed to ride like a car.

Funny video, but if a dealer would have used that as part of a sales pitch to me, I'd be laughing ...yes, California roads are ALWAYS under repair, but never anything close to that. I haven't Off Roaded this rig yet, and I don't know how much I will ....I was used to my Jeep ...but if I did, I wouldn't be going that fast anyway, unless I hit a bog.

I think its just a simple saftey and control issue. They are saying that their truck won't loose control or lose its payload if you hit debris ( or a small fuzzy animal ) on the road. Either that or its just a plain old display of "our truck is stiffer than yours". Uh....Huh huh huh. (Sorry, Bevis and Butthead moment).

Yeah, it may not be a situation that everyone would put their truck into... However, the test speed was only28 mph. Makes me think that I wouldn't want to be boot-scootin' down a backroad in the Toy, and find a patch of rough pavement at 40+mph....
