Lowering rear
1 Attachment(s)
I need to lower the rear end of my 97 GMC a couple of inches to level out my 5th wheel trailer when towing it. The previous owner put in heavier springs (6 leaves) which I like when having the extra weight of the trailer on, but it makes the rear sit up a bit. The trailer sits a bit up in the front.
I see these lowering shackles on eBay etc to lower the rear....anyone used these?....Pros/Cons? Attachment 1770 Fully Adjustable 2" OR 1" DROP AVAILABLE Installation time: .5 hr/wheel Our Shackles are Powder coated to fight corrosion and provide long life. I would say that's the way to go to maintain the same ride you already have.
When I saw the .5 hr per side I almost laughed out loud :) I don't think your 97 is going to give up the original shackles that easily. It may even involve replacing the shackle bolts after you burn the originals off |
