Default marbles in my engine

Hey, Been away for a while, I need help. I have a 2000
gutless 4.3 Silverado 4x4. After fixing numerous rattles/noises
I have but one left. At RPM's between 1,000 and 1,800 taking
off from a stop the engine sounds like there is marbles bouncing around inside. Seems like it's coming from the left side, but If I get under the truck with engine running in drive with parking brake set
the noise seems to be in the oil pan/ bell housing area.

I know, I put way to much confidence in my parking brake, but
I'm desperate to find out what this noise is.

Any replies would be greately appreciated

I would look at your PCV in your valve cover.
I had one in my old truck that rattled like a diamond back.
Hope that helps

I have that same exact problem in my 4.3 V6, Mines a 2004...The way I fixed it was by getting a Gibson Super Truck exhaust system...Now I cant hear it anymore.
I know this is no help, But ive tried numerous times to find it...I couldnt so I just covered the noise up completly =)

So is this exhaust system a direct bolt on after the y-pipe or do i have to cut.

Feels good to know that I'm not crazy, Thanks for the reply Chevyvehc

do you have a manual or automatic?

My last chevy was spanking new and rattled just like yours. it turned out to be the clutch cable. I have heard that it is exhaust related on our v6's. seems to be a design flaw. My 03 rattles at the same interval yours does. during light acceleration.

"Chevyvehc", How loud is your gibson exhaust? how much power gain? I want to change mine soon. Does it kill you with interior noise? and lastly how is it on a long trip. Annoying, tolerable or pleasant?

dont get super 40's (flowmaster) on your six if you want a plesant ride... stick with the flowmaster 50 series... got on my nerves on long trips, very annoying

Yes, Its a direct bolt on, I had to cut my stock sytem out only b/c I didnt have a lift and we got it turned around wrong and got it stuck on the driveway, So we just cut the pipe off and the stock system slid out. After that it was cake to get the gibson system on, just bolted it up to the y-pipe and hung it on the stock hangers and I was good to go, Great sound and performance.
I have had three people ask me now if I had a 350 in it b/c its so deep, Im happy overall with it.
Goodluck, Make sure and tell me whats making the noise when and if you find it.

Umm its hard to say haha...Its mellow right on start up...But after you drive for about 5-10 minutes it gets a lot louder. My girlfriend doesnt mind it but you do have to talk louder in the cab. It shakes the rear view mirror and you can feel it in the floorboard. For gibson the super truck system are there loudest interior systems by far, I didnt notice that till after I ordered it =X.
I just recently took a trip to Adamsville, about 400 miles. It was tolerable, It only gets really anoying when you hit 1500-2000 rpms. At that point it just shakes everything and is loud as hell inside.
Ive noticed my MPG go up. Im not sure if it was because of the exhaust or the intake because I installed them both at the same time. I havent had a chance to run it on a dyno so I cant give you exact numbers of whp gains.
Hope this helps you in your decision.
Im personally very happy with it, for the price - easy installation - sound- and the fact that you dont see many side exiting systems out there. You ALWAYS see duals, and im the first on the block to have a side exiting system, so im very happy with it. =)

Thanks bro!

I'm thinking I need something quieter than that. I'm gonna keep checking around. I used to like it loud but age is catching up a little, and my wife hates loud exhaust.
