Default Mods..?

Hey I have a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado Ext cab z71. I have been thinking of getting a few mods such as a cold air intake and a throttle body spacer and didnt know if they would be worth it. I would LOVE more power but with more power means less mpg. Which the mpg is what i would rather have in the long run. Anyone know anything about the tbs or the cold air intake on what they could do for me? Or if there are any other options on what I could do...? Thanks!

CAI well worht it. TBS, IMO, I think worht it 2. More incoming air and the spacer allows for better air fuel atomization. I have the spacer and it gave me better MPG. You will also get more torque with both. Try that and see what ya think.

1. I would say yes on the CAI, a little pricey but worth it, maybe look on ebay for a used one to save alittle $$$.
2. TBS: absolutely worthless on 96+ gm trucks. there is no fuel running through the throttle body to allow for better air/fuel attomization (spelling???) like carbs or tbi's. do not waste your money.
3. exhaust, i have a flowmaster and it sounds good, did it give me more power, probably not.
4. long tube headers
5. best bang for the buck, custom tune from the likes of blackbear performance, get about 80% TM removed and it will be like driving a different truck.
6. corvette servo for your trans. will help with the 1-2 shift and a little on the 2-3. makes it firmer but not harsh.

main thing is CUSTOM TUNE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! best thing you will ever do to your truck

the only thing that truly affect mpg is how hard you hit the skinny pedal.

Uh if ur gonna take a hit at my opinion, checking my spelling is a little desperate to knock on someone's reply. My hands are way too big for these keyboards so Im doin the best I can. And it is only my opinion!! From what I have done to my truck. They come here for that, not for a **** FIGHT!! So try it somewhere else big guy.

You spelled "atomization" correctly, he didn't. I think he put "spelling???" because he didn't know how to spell it. And he's just stating his opinion the same as you did...I'm not taking sides, just saying I don't think he was attacking you're spelling or your opinion.

So which cai would be better? I noticed you showed me the spectre is that what you have? And how does it do for you? What's the difference between spending 100 bucks on that one and 300 on a k&n or an airaid? I've read the description on a few and they either give a little more or a little less on horsepower. You never know until you try it yourself or hear what someone else has. Thanks!

Well I have the spectre and it works very well. Of course its combonation of things. If ya get that then you might also get a good exhaust set up. A tune and some other bolt ons. Just the CAI will give you extra HP but its the first step to getting more out of it. Here is mine.

That's pretty sweet you can still buy the cheaper one and still get power out of it. What about the tbs what do you recomend on that one?
