Well any brand of TBS will be ok. Some people say it dont help and some do. I think it does. It adds more plenum volume. I know it doesn't add more power, but I think it helps with my CAI set up and also my ported throttle body. With both of those it helps smooth out the flow of air coming into the throttle body then squeezes by it. That sort of creates a venturi affect, IMO. Look at this, its exactly how I did mine...http://www.ewurl.com/post/DIY-Portin...ttle-Body.aspx

if you are dead set on getting a TBS, then go for the cheapest one you can find, they all do the same thing

Im honestly not dead set on anything. Im just checking out my options. It seems that for mods and what not no matter what the product is someone always has a different oppinion on it. So im trying to see if it is really worth it...:(

well i speak from experience, i had a tbs on my 89 k5 and it was great, i then spent the money for one on my 06 (before i read up on things) and basically felt like i was robbed. Just trying to look out for other people.
as stated before, TBS are not worth the $50-100 on a 96+ gm truck. if you want the best bang for your buck, that would be def. a tune. the diablo is the best handheld but is still not the best. its great if you want to be able to change things yourself without having to send back/get a new pcm (ie. tire size adjustments and things like that) if you are pretty savy on how to tune, you could fork out a little bit of money and get either hptuners or efi live. if your not savy, go with a compatent tuner. good luck with your decisions. but once you start modding, you will always want more :) i need to go sell some crack so i can get a magnacharger:) |
