Default mods vs warranty

I have two years left on my warranty. How much of a gamble is it to do mods that may void the warranty? What do you guys think? Go for it or wait the two years?

Decide what truck you really want, do the mods, do it once, do it right, be done, be happy.

Silly damn question to be asking us. Did you really think we'd tell you to restrain yourself from modding?

Subconsciously, I think I want everyone to tell me to wait until the warranty is up. I don't want to wait, but it's probably the smart thing to do. However, I've not been known for doing the smart thing!!!
Major, did you ever get the egg off your truck?

Well do what I did. Only change the things that will not void your warranty: exhaust... muffler back obviously. CAI that way you can change it back before you take it in for warranty work. And a programmer... just unprogram it and hope the technician does not notice the indicators that it was programmed. That is what I did.
Now it is time for me to really get to modifying... well when I finally get some MONEY! DAM BILLS! Oops Sorry beer talking again! -

Warranty is only voided if mods caused it. There has been a lot of question about this. Many aftermarket co. will go to bat for you if there is a warranty issue. (it might take more than one call) If I put a 500hp motor in my truck, that has nothing to do with power seats or things like that. Now if my stock transmision went out with the 500hp motor.... you are on your own.

And for the GRANDDADDY of them all-

I have that problem today. I have had an Airaid air intake set up for 2yrs. My check engine light came on and took it to the service dealer. I got a phone call today from them and they said that my Mass air flow sensor is bad. The reason it went bad is becauseI had an after market Air system on it. The warranty will not cover it and I need to pay $500 and put my OEM set up back on.
I'm just going to pay the Diagnostics and try to clean the MFS myself.
Any advice?
Thanks,
