More about steering knock, intermediate shaft issue

I have an '06 Silverado 2500HD and got the steering knock taken care of this morning by having a new intermediate shaft installed...now the truck pulls to the left. According to the dealership that did the work the replacement of the intermediate shaft shouldn't affect the alignment at all, but, my truck was aligned perfectly when I pulled into the dealer this morning. So, I have a good feeling they're pulling my leg here...shouldn't the alignment been checked after the installation of the intermediate shaft?

sounds like they didn't have the tires and steering wheel straight upon installation, so you are a partial turn off. Take it back and make them fix it. If you make them look at it with the steering wheel set straight, then look at the wheels they will see the problem. It should not affect alignment, just the straightness of the steering wheel.

NO..
the shaft is either on or 180 off..your steering wheel would be upside down if it were wrong...its impossible to mess with camber, caster,or toe with steering shaft replacement...
check your tires, thats probably why its pulling

I got the factory 20's maybe they are messing up the steering? I dunno, any help from anyone will be greatly appreciated!

there is no type of special warranty on the shaft...the new one is about 90 bucks...expect to pay about an hours labor

Two questions:

1. Where do you squirt the grease into on the shaft? (In the words of Argon, "Insert sex joke here).. Just anywhere on the boot?
2. Could you really load it up, or is it just going to squirt back out?

no,no,no..the grease is internal..the bump you feel is the tolerance between the male and female telescopic shafts...either replace it with trhe new greaseless design..

OR

underhood...unbolt the 15mm headed pinch bolt...slide the upper and lower shafts apart...

now..stroke the shaft in and out several times...20 times maybe..stroke-stroke-stroke

this redistributes the greae already in there...your grease did not go away...the manifold heat caused it to sag to the bottom

bolt er up....you'll be knock-less about 6 months .

CAUTION...truck may smoke afterwards
