Is my Tranny Junk????
 

Hey guys,
89 GMC k1500 4x4 ,700R4
Blew up my engine and puked my tranny...so i went from a 305 to a 350, no problems there.

Now my Tranny..couldn't find exact match because of the amount of $ i wanted to spend. So i found a 700R4 out of a early 90's blazer/jimmy.

My old tranny shifted correctly..Didnt slip before it went out.BUT here's my question, this used tranny out of the jimmy/blazer has a delay between gears, its almost like i manual transmission when you push the clutch in for 2 seconds when shifting. ALMOST Like it slips when it shifts but not really slipping...IS IT SUPPOSE TO DO THAT!?

It shifts late in my opinion because of the delay, but is there anything i can do to make it not do this? Im worried of cookin another tranny:(

The other question i have is at the back of the tranny on the casing theres a number about 2 inches high? What does it stand for? My old tranny had a 6 on the side, and my new one has a 15 or 16 i think. IS this important?
