NEED HELP!!!
Hey guys i have a 97 chevy 1500 silverado 5.7 350 2X4. I put on a new spider a little while ago but i lost the nut that ties down the fuel lines, so i had to wait to get that before i could finish. I finished tonight and when i went to start it, it would spike the rpms to like 4 or 5 thousand then die. My service engine light would come on as it was dieing. I did it a few times thinking maybe it would clear some bad gas out of the engine or something. Also when i started it it started smoking really bad. Do u guys have any clue whats going on? or has this happend to u?
Thanks for the input, Randy |

RE: NEED HELP!!!
man..sounds l;ike she may be flooding under there...do you have a pressure gauge to see if the pressure holds?

RE: NEED HELP!!!
A spider is the fuel injection system on the truck. And no i do not have a fuel pressure gauge. Also i dont see any signs of flooding there isnt any access fuel or anything.

RE: NEED HELP!!!
wrong nozzle in the wroing holes possibly...or flooded due to a leak underthere, since your seeing black smoke...
how long can you get it to stay running? |
RE: NEED HELP!!!
Well after the RPMs spike it tries to die, but i can push the gas and it will spike the RPMs again. its almost like it idols at 5000 rpm
