Need help on some 4WD parts
ok i have a 1992 gmc sierra k1500. my four wheel drive light hasnt been working so i was checking wires and found out that i have three wires that were ripped off up by the actuator. my actuator wires were fine so it took be the longest time to figure out were these three wires went. finally i found a bolt type deal right above the 4wd actuatar and screw it out. it was small and that was were my three wires go. what is that small thing called the 4WD indicator switch sensor or what. is that why my light might not be working. and where could i get a new one at my local parts store or do i need to get one from the dealer. i also found it on the internet but it has only 2 wires going to it instead of three so did they take off a wire for the newer models. thanks for all help in advace. |
Hey,
Id check with a dealer first, then check aftermarket. Id go with the dealer but thats me.. You'd be surprised on how cheap some of that 4wd stuff is from the dealer. I needed a 4wd switch, the one that goes ontop of the TC. for my 89 GMC, it was only $35 bucks. Hope this helps. |
