I just picked up a 2008 Sierra 1500 crew cab and noticed that of the 3 power ports I have on this thing, all are continuous power. Has anyone found a way to change one to where it is off when the key is removed from the ignition?

nope, i got the same problem man, its a pain in the *** having to remember to unplug a cell phone charger or anything for that matter when you get out. let me know what you find out though.

Yeah, you just figure with 3, one of them would be ignition controlled. I charge my phone at home, but have a GPS and plan to get a radar detector. The vehicle has battery run down protection, but would still like to have the unused devices off when the engine is not running.

Crack that new baby open and rewire it! Find a switched power source. (most likely at the fuse panel) Run new wires or trace the old ones back to the source.

 

Id leave the GPS were no one can see it the there stealing them like crazy.

 

Figured that, was hopin there was some kind of programmable thing you could do. Seem I can change just about everything by pushing a button, lol

 

mine has been plugged in for a year...nmo dead battery
