New Camaro

I want a new SS Camaro Convertible so ****ing bad I can taste it.

Factory specs:
6.0 Liter LS-2 V8 Engine with 400 HP
6 Speed Manual Transmission
Gas Pressurized 4 Wheel Independent Suspension
4 Piston 14 Inch Disc Brakes
21 and 22 inch Cast Aluminum Wheels

My previous vehicle was a 1998 Z28 Camaro with the LS1. 305 HP (stock). The fastest I had it up to was 160 MPH on the highway. Smoked every car that ever raced me (including several mustangs). Once you drive a vehicle like that everything else seems slow as hell. The new ones will be even faster. I have an addiction and right now im jonesin' like a mofo

RE: New Camaro

That looks pretty cool but it already has 2 turbos. The camaro has no turbo and it still makes 400 HP from the factory. take 1 of the turbos off that car and put it on a new Camaro and see what happens. It will crush those numbers. Also, you can get one for less than $38k so you will still have money for mods like intake, exhaust, custom tune, etc...oooops, i think i just creamed myself

racethisz71 11-09-2007 06:32 PM

RE: New Camaro

yea but keeping the gnx theme its still a 3.6l v6

None of those beat the new dogde challenger

AH we don't talk dodge in here. I want one of those camaro's so bad myself!!!!

RE: New Camaro

Where'd Buick come from!? I would really like to see one run down the street, even if for the fact that it's another sporty domestic able to stand up against the horde of imports. I'm damned glad they brought back the camaro, but I'm waiting for a TA, once those 2 are back ford will have to get back to work :)

RE: New Camaro

exactly. a 3.6L V6 is going to sound and act like a tiny 6 cylinder. a big beefy 6.0L LS-2 V8 is going to sound like a monster and shred rubber like nobody's business.

I like the new challenger as well. They are supposed to have some big numbers too. I think the HP is gonna be over 420 maybe 440, but its still a Dodge. I mean, the Vipers have freakin V-10s with HUGE HP numbers, but a Corvette is still faster with the LS-6/LS-7. Chevy just makes better vehicles than Daimler Chrylser for the most part. But i really like the body styling of the Concept Challenger Convertible. Thats gonna come with a factory pussy magnet for sure.

RE: New Camaro

you know y the stoped makeing the v6. because people were bitching that they just bought a vette and this cheaper v6 is runnin quicker and i dont really car what it sounds like, if it sounds like a weedwacker and will take the camaro and give the vette another runs for its money

quick02 11-11-2007 02:01 PM

RE: New Camaro

Hell we should be happy that we're churning out a V6 that will give other V6 a run for it's money. I wanna see one smoking Supra's and Porches, showing once again who makes the best V engines

72charger 11-11-2007 05:14 PM

RE: New Camaro

Whoa! How'd I miss out on this concept?!?! That is awesome! Also, I hate to break it to you diehard V8 enthusiasts but with a few decent turbo mods that thing would rape most semi-stock Camaros. Lest you forget the 87 GNX was the fastest production car in the world in 1987. Course this is a totally different monster so only time will tell what happens here.

And as far as them smoking Supras, that may be but that will only drive me to make my Supra that much faster! LOL:D

JohnAdamsR 11-12-2007 08:42 AM

RE: New Camaro

Yeah that is a pretty sweet car and Im sure its awesome but like I said it comes with 2 turbos for $38k. The camaro comes with no turbo for less money. Thats not exactly a fair comparison. Put 2 turbos on the camaro and then compare HP numbers...but anything with 2 turbos that is so light weight will be super fast.

I want the camaro more and more everytime i watch transformers.

I wonder how much it costs to have the giant man crushing robot acessory added?

Cracker 11-12-2007 10:52 AM

RE: New Camaro

The preproduction challengers are running 11.00 1/4 mile times with CARBON FIBER bodies. Obviously that won't make it to the street.
I would buy one for one reason.....Paint it orange with a big 01 on the side!

The camaro is beautiful no matter which way you look at it.

JohnAdamsR 11-12-2007 10:55 AM

RE: New Camaro

Yes, I loved Bumblebee in Transformers. When I saw him turn into the new Camaro I freaked out and yelled in the theater and everyone told me to shutup

Cracker 11-12-2007 10:57 AM

RE: New Camaro

My 13 year old son did the same thing.

J/K

That was pretty cool. You guys think 1FAST4X4 will buy one with all the money falling out his ass?

JohnAdamsR 11-12-2007 11:00 AM

RE: New Camaro

I doubt he will since his Tundra is the fastest most awesomest biggest baddest meanest thing in the universe.....or so he says.

well, he's got a pontiac, ford, toyota, and something else i think, so you never know he could go for the chevy lol

RE: New Camaro

I really dont like chrysler products at all, but that new challenger is awsome, I think it looks a lot better then the Camaro.

JohnAdamsR 11-12-2007 06:42 PM

RE: New Camaro

i dont care much for the front end of the new camaro but i like the rest. I would definitely try to restyle the front if i had one. im willing to bet GM will change the body stlying several times over the next few years, much like they did from the '80s to 1998 with the older camaros

72charger 11-12-2007 06:47 PM

RE: New Camaro

Yeah but all they are gonna do is make it more aerodynamic looking. Right now everyone is going for the retro thing but I know in a few countries they are passing laws to make cars safer in pedestrian collisions and I'm sure we'll follow. All the new Mustang prototypes are showing exactly that. Going back to the 90's rounded off/smooth front end.

JohnAdamsR 11-12-2007 06:55 PM

RE: New Camaro

yeah, i liked the front end i had...the '98 body style

Cracker 11-12-2007 07:08 PM

RE: New Camaro

Pedestrians? If they don't like the way I drive they should stay off the sidewalk!
Are there really enough pedestrian collisions to warrant such a change in the US?

JohnAdamsR 11-12-2007 07:18 PM

RE: New Camaro

i dont know how much of a difference changing the front end will make....if you get hit by a car going 55mph its gonna hurt...no matter what

chevy112488 11-12-2007 07:44 PM

RE: New Camaro

yeah, i doubt that will come into play in the united states, europe is a much more urban, congested area than america, we dont have nearly the pedestrian/vehicle incidents they do

Cracker 11-12-2007 07:57 PM

With signs like this our number of occurances may increase.

I saw one of those a few days ago in a place I wouldn't want to cross. It made me think how ****ing scary would it be if you had to cross the street and couldn't see what was going on.

Thats why you send the seeing eye dog out about 4 feet in front of you. If you hear a "vroom...yelp..., splat" and the leash gets yanked out of your hand, then its not safe to cross.

Actually, a glorified chevy, a Cadallic. The LS2 is a awesome motor and i have enjoyed mine alot. Since i recently sold my toys for some recreational land to hunt and play on with my truck, i do get a itch for another sports car. I really like the GNX and the Challenger, but would pass on the camaro! Actually, I would save some money and go with a slightly used Vette, as i see some Z06's starting to show up.

You ever notice that Cadillac always has the goods out first, then it appears in the other brands (Chevrolet, Buick, etc) ? A recent example is for the 2009 Silverado and Sierra will have the newly revamped Escalade transmission.

I wondered about putting the six speed from the Caddy in our trucks.
Let them put the new stuff in "kept" women's SUVs. First year productions are more likely to have problems. By the time it gets to a Chevy most of the bugs have been worked out and R&D cost have been offset by previous sales.

Thats why having a 99' makes me so freakin nervous, lol. Hopefully most of the bugs were worked out with recalls, pft....HA!

RE: New Camaro

I hear what your saying about the first year productions ...I've heard nothing but horror stories ....my moms Caddy STS was in the shop more in the first year than it was on the road ...and I'm not stretching the truth on that at all. The dealership or Cadilac compensated here in some way that made her pretty happy ...but she woudln't tell me what it was. She thought I'd fly out to the Washington DC area and kick their arses for messing with my mom. lol
