Default new and got questions!!!

so im looking at making the switch from a car to a truck (finally!!!) and i would really like a diesel like the dmax but im worried about the cost of repairs and reliability. are diesels really as finicky and breakable as im thinking? i hear one diesel injector is around $400 is this true? if i were to get a gas truck i would get a tundra because they have one hell of an engine in them, thought on this? also do they make posi locking diffs for the 08+ tundras with the 5.7 in them?

thanks in advance guys

You honestly couldn't be more wrong... JK! Welcome to the forum. I had to move your post(no questions in new member area) and I wasn't sure where to put it so I put it here because the Silverado section gets the most visibility

The duramax engine is in my opinion the most reliable all around engine you can get today. My dad has a 2004 Dmax that he put a flat bed on and has been moving 4000lb molds and dies for 457,000 MILES!! You can't go wrong and I have NEVER heard of anyone not liking them.

Yeah I would love to have one if I could afford another truck. I've never owned a diesel but if I did I would have to go with a duramax regardless of the reason that I am a Chevy fan for life.

I wouldn't get near a Tundra for a gas truck. They just look like a Rosie O Donnel version of the Camary. Just my 2 cents

i quite like the looks of the tundra, the new ones anyway, but some of the things about the frame and the differential is kinda un ashuring
