I am new to the forum and just bought a 2003 silverado z71, Are there any little things you can do to the 5.3 that will add a little power on a small budget?

Look in the free mod section and build from there. Look at my signature.

Is there such a thing as a FREE MODIFICATION???
I'm just thinking out loud here but anything you ad will usually cost $$$ unless you beg steal or borrow it.
Or you could just remove stuff from your truck and call it a Mod. No air filter. No catalytic converter or muffler.

Correct me if I'm wrong not much comes for free.

Look under the Chevy/Silverado Faqs section. Silverado/Sierra FAQs - Truck Forums - Truck Enthusiast Forum for Ford Chevy Dodge Toyota Nissan GMC pickup trucks
Look for "Ultimate Free Horsepower Mod List"
There are a few free mods that you can do by removing a few items and bypassing a few things... aka Free Mods.

Well reducing weight like the towing hitch and spare tire bracket will help, coolant bypass, throttle body porting, pop the air ports off of the air box, etc.
