Hey guys, I am seriously looking at a new truck. here is what i found

A 08 Chevy silverado 4x4. 1500 LT, it has 51,300KM

Just wondering What you guys think of this truck, any thing to look out for,
any advice would be very much appreciated,

It also has a 4.8L motor in it

Congratulations on your sweet find.
Are you buying it from a dealership?
Ask them to run the VIN for any outstanding recalls or bulletin.

I don't know of any issue maybe some of the other members may chime in and help out.

 

I got a 2007 Silverado extended cab, brand new. 4.8 with a 3.42 posi/trailer towing package and loved it! The only thing was, pulling the boat on flat ground was fine but, it could have used the 5.3 or some added rear end gear for the hills or mountains. All in all it was a great truck!

 

I gotta say man these motors are some of the best built for good power and upgrades, but the 4.8 has just not been known to be great or even good in a 4x4. It will struggle to tow especially. A 4x4 package on a truck alone is heavy enough for it. I say this from many who wished they would have gone bigger.

yeah congrats... I'm sure you'll like the 5.3 quite a bit better than the 4.8

 

So now I want to know, what would u guys modify on this truck if it was yours?

 

Maybe something like this but, I'd paint it white because, I don't like too much attention!
