My name is Jack and just bought a 1985 Silverado 350/350 with a Edelbrock Intake and Headers with 20,500 miles on the motor and trans.
The reason we got the truck is to haul stuff from the big city since our 2011 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid won't haul anything and we didn't want to put a trailer hitch on it.

Hi all, I am Steve, I drive a 1990 Suburban with a 454, and a GearVendor Overdrive. The Suburban has always been parked in the garage when not on the road, but still had to have the "Up" surfaces repainted a couple of years ago do to clear-coat oxidation.
Bought it new, for trailering while the family was growing. About 140Kmiles, as is my favorite car to drive. Although now I only average about 1,000 miles a year on in.

Hi yall, names Nate. Got a 1995 Chevy K1500 in the spring as a summer project/ future daily driver (lol, not the best thing to get for a DD). Once I finish it up I'm going to park the 2000 Z-28 and get to fixing it up as well. From Nebraska and look forward to being here!

Hey y'all - John in bufu Tennessee. Just got a 1994 Sierra 2500 beast on Monday (first truck ever!). It's definitely a fixer-upper (yay!). It has 134,000 (234,000, 334,000? - OD exempt). Eats gas like a pig, previous owner smelled like my grandparents, apparantly, and it leaks oil (just a little - not as much as I made the previous owner believe). :) Runs like a charm, though, and looks like it's been battle tested.

So far, all I know is it's nice to have a truck (everyone seems to have one in TN), and that truck parts are freeking expensive! ;)

I'm a decent mechanic, so-so HVAC tech, super-duper carpenter, Johnny-on-the-spot network engineer, and I write books. Happy to find this site. Hope to find my bed bolts tomorrow morning. ;)

John

What's shakin fella's?

Good to meet you all. I'm new to the site but have been doing paint, body and restoration work on and off for about 25 years. Like most of you I have an affliction, an addiction with the automobile and a fan of American V8 power. I look forward to learning and being able to help out by sharing my knowledge......... Not to mention have some laughs along the way.
