No power to stereo
 

just bought a 93 sierra the other day and the sony stereo isn't working, checked fuses, both seem to fine. previous owner said it worked, so im not sure where to start...any tips or advice?

Did you check the fuses in the trucks fuse panel and the fuse on the radio itself? You will have to remove the radio to check it's fuse, but you can also verify that it has power and ground at the same time. With the key on you should have power to both the red and yellow wire and the black should be attached to a ground source. Good Luck!

thanks for the reply, i checked all fuses including back of the stereo and it checked out...how do i test for power to red and yellow?

You need a test light or multimeter. If you don't have one they sell cheap test lights at your local auto parts store.

There is also a fuse in the back of these aftermarket stereos.
