Noisy Steering Wheel

I have a 99 Silverado Z-71 and the steering wheel seems to need lubrication. It makes noise when I turn the wheel sharply. If I spray (WD-40) the area under the dash will this solve it longterm?

Have you tried spraying lubricant on where you think the noise might be coming from?
If so Has this helped. I usually use lithium grease on stuff.

GM has a lube kit for the steering shaft noise. Just see your dealer and they will make it just like new.

How much was the lube from the dealer? Is it just lithium grease?

Ditto the above.

Also, if you have any play in your column from the wheel to the dash you may need to have the adjustable steering column screws tightened. If these are loose they can cause odd noises and sometimes difficult steering and shifting.
