otc enhanced scanner used on 1996 gmc
 

I'm new to this forum. Have a 1996 gmc k2500 ,5.7L. Using a otc 4000 enhanced scanner, I can get the OBD II codes etc to come up with OBD II insert, but when I try the Pathfinder 97 cartridge withgm generic smart insert, all I can get is "No Data at ALDL". Shouldn' t this insert work on this vehicle. I want to use it to disable injectors to check for a bad one. Can't do that with obd II, or if you can I don't know how!!!!!!
