Over sized tires for my 2009 Sierra 1500 2WD, Help!

Hi,

I just bought a 2009 GMC Sierra P/U truck last month, and would like to change out my stock tires for more of a truck tire, somthing like a 33" tire, with an aggresive look, but doesn't sacrafice gas milage to much

I live in Florida, nothing but flat roads, do most of my traveling on the highway, but don't like the look of the stock rims & tires

I was thinking of going with a 33" tire, on the stock rims

My current tire size is: 245/70R/17

My question is, whats the biggest tire size I can go right now on the stock rims?

Next question is, I was thinking of doing a 3" body lift with it also

Do you think I should go with a 3" body lift, and go with somthing like 35's? Or, go with a 3" body lift, and go with 33's? Or......stay stock with no body lift, and go with 33" tires, somthing like a Pro Comp , or Nitto

I do about 35K miles a year driving, and do allot of highway driving, and really don't want to go lower then 17 mpg, right now I'm getting over 20mpg.

Any suggestions?

Lastley, what does a 3" body lift go for these days, and can I do it myself, or just bring it to a shop if I deceide to do it?

Thanks for your help, as this is my first truck, and love it !

PS, also pics would be appreciated with a descrition of what size tires & rims you have, and if you lifted it, so I can get an idea, thanks!

I have a 2008 Z71 4x4 with a 2.5 leveling kit and 2.5 blocks in the rear gives a great rake with enough lift for 305x60x18s (33x12.5,s) awesome look, try to stay away from the body lift. I have been building trucks jeeps and buggies for 22 years. the suspension look is much better and withtodays quality (and ebay) the price in about the same.

You won't be able to get 17.

I can answer the last question and that's about it.

For some reason BFG All terrain's are good in every terrain EXCEPT snow. The tread does not allow them to clean out and they end up just turning into a racing slick. If it had vertical tread they would do much better
