so i have a weird desire to paint my bumpers on my 01 silverado,im looking to paint them black? questions i have are as follows

what kind of paint did you use

was it hard too do

is it worth it to do

if anyone has done this post some pics

I'm the wrong person to ask, but personally if I were going to do it, I'd start by removing the bumpers, taking them to get media blasted, primer them and then move on to a duplicolor type rattle can paint. I'd do two thick base coats covering roughly 80%, then three light coats on top of that finishing up the coverage. Wet sand, do two more light coats, then apply clear coat. I'd do two thick coats, wet sand, one light coat, wet sand again, then buff.

Mind you, I don't paint cars, don't want to paint cars, and I have never done this before ... so .. personally, drive it to a collision shop and have them do it.

 

lol nullhead hahaha well turns out i brought it to a body shop an they ended up ordering two painted bumpers black for half the cost of them painting my bumpers ill have pics in about a week thanks for the help everyone

 

lol that's awesome. They might even give you a small break if you trade them your old bumpers when you're done installing the new ones they ordered.
