Panic Alarm Goes Off When Unlocking Doors with FOB
Newb here. I just purchased a 2000 Chevy 1500...I did a search and a lot of people seemed to ask a similar question but with no real answer or result...
My problem is when I unlock the door with the FOB my panic alarm will sometimes go off and the only way to turn it off is by starting the truck. I do not have a panic button on my FOB. I have a remote start button, an unlock, lock and an 'option' button that I have no idea its function. I have read that possible solutions are: 1) Resetting the FOB 2) Take it to the dealer 3) Replacing the sensor Any of these work? Is there a way to disconnect the panic alarm? Can I pull a fuse? |
whoever installed your remote start hooked up a wrong wire somewhere
same exact thing happened to my truck and i told them to redo it or take your system out of my truck and give my money back. not only did it work even better when i got it back they detailed my interior for free :P |
Disable Panic button
I have a 2001 GMC Sierra, 5.3L and I keep accidently setting off the alarm when the factory issued remote is in my pocket. Can someone tell me if/how I can disable it?

Hey JonnyB welcome to the forum. You will get more responses if you start your own thread. You should start with an introduction also. Thanks!
