Passenger Side Water under the floor mat
Guys I did a search and didnt see anything that fits. I keep the AC on all the time. Under my passenger side mate if you lift it up has water under it almost all the time. Could be AC water but there is also a puddle on the ground each time i park at work. So not sure what it could be. Is it possible some of the water is getting out to the ground but not all of it?
The mat and carpet on that side stays wet almost all the time. |
........
Even when it doesnt rain it still stays wet so not sure its related to rain water.

Your drain might just be partially clogged. Get under there and clean it out. I am assuming it isn't the heater core leaking - you aren't having to add coolant are you?
|
My 98 Dakota did the same thing. The drain got clogged then eventually started to leak inside the truck.
|
.......
Yes I have to add coolant from time to time. How in the heck do I check that? Where are the drain lines? Just follow it from the coolant container back to the area near the right side passenger firewall?

If you have a coolant leak in your heater core??? You would definitely smell it in the cab. And your windows would fog up when your truck reached normal operating temperature.
When your using the AC you should see moisture accumulating on the ground under the truck. Which one of these are you having and which is not happening? |
........
I dont smell anything in the cab at all. Windows rarely fog up just in the am on cold days ect. I do see at work water on the ground under the truck behind the right front tire almost everyday.

Well I'm somewhat baffled.
You have no Coolant smell in your cab and no heater core leaking symptoms. Your still getting water pooling under your truck, so your AC condenser is draining outside the cab. If it's not rain, and it's not antifreeze.... My only guess is your still getting some of the AC condenser water in the cab. With the truck standing still it may drain properly. But with the truck moving around the water may move around to the back of the condenser box and enter the cab throw a small hole or leaking box gasket. Parking on an angle (hill) may contribute to the issue. Some weekend... tare into it... pull your dash apart. |

Its not pooling water, but its damp carpet. Its not so much to squeeze it out but water is coming from some where.

Have you checked the drain yet?
Edit: Sorry I just noticed you asked where the drain was and how to check it. It is a paint to get to but you have to get under the truck and you will see a little rubber hose that is squeezed down on one end. Just look on the passenger side around all the A/C stuff on the firewall and you will see it. Just stick something up in it and work it around a little. If it was the heater core it would have a coolant smell - assuming you are running coolant. |
