please help I have a chance to buy a 2003 GMC sierra Z71 with the 5.3 liter. it has 150 000 km on it. Usually i would research a buy like this. but this deal will only last until tomorrow morning. So what I need to know is if this is a "good" truck. by good truck i mean that there aren't any factory problems or problems that seem to always show up with this year and model of truck


oh yeah it is an SLE. please any info or links would be helpful

 

well,an 03 5.3 p/u is as good as they come...but with those miles...who knows.

weak spots would be the steering rattle (minor) and the fuel pump

 

ARGON TALKING ABOUT FUEL PUMPS, I WANT TO KNOW WHY IS IT ON ALMOST ALL GMC AND CHEVY TRUCKS THAT THE FUEL PUMPS GO OUT AROUND 100K AND I HERE IT FROM ALOT OF PEOPLE,ON MY OLD 97 CHEVY 1500 THE THE PUMP WENT OUT JUST A LITTLE OVER 100KAND THE THING ABOUT IT WAS THAT THE FUEL PRESSURE WAS LIKE 48PSI AND IT NEEDS TO BE AROUND 60PSI I DID NOT KNOW THAT 12PSI MADE THAT BIG OF DIFFERENCE BUT IT DOES I GUESS

 

yes,a big difference..the injectors on a 5.7 are mechanical,and designed to pop off at 53...52 won't do it
